Comm/Multi/Inst checkride PASSED!

UND's Commercial course only requires a total of 122hours (ASEL, IA, and AMEL all combined in 1 huge course), throw in Private at around 35-60hours and you can be done in anywhere from 157 hours to 180 (if you never fly anywhere else)

congrats!!! CFI this summer?

dunno, CFI'ing isnt my first option but we'll see whats out there in another 2 semesters when i graduate.

to do spin training you need to be CFI initial qualified, but you could do acro stuff

Back when God was a child and I was doing my Commercial, you needed 250 hours to take the checkride. Even 141 guys needed 200 (?). I'm not generally one of those "more hours is better" guys, but 175? How much of that was in a sim? Please don't think I'm trying to start a flame war here...I'm sure you wouldn't have passed the ride if you didn't know what you were doing...just curious as to what the new rules are.a

PS. Congrats. It's a pretty great feeling...while it lasts ;)

PPS. You need a CFI to do spins? Since when? There's one I WILL get angry about...
"What? Spins? I was doing slowflight and I got a little too slow... what? Yeah, it happened again. Yeah, well, I figured I'd better keep trying until I got it right..."

They're talking about doing spin training. When someone's done it, they'll want the spin sign off. You'll need the CFI for that.

yeah he's referring to GIVING spin instruction to CFI applicants.

and i dont know what the absolute minimum time is for CPL at our school, but i know i was very close to it, as the last few courses I had to make up time at the end of each just to meet minimums. and about sim time, I have no idea how much, Id have to consult the logbook, but our sims are VERY nice Level 6 sims with full aircraft cockpits....
