Comair to cease operations

Well-met in the Ka-tet
Sad news. When I started out in the airline industry back in the 90's, Comair was one of the big players in the regional side of the industry and a place where everyone starting out wanted to work. Then they got bought out by Delta, had a pilot's strike, and the price of oil skyrocketed - now, the 50-seat RJ which was the cornerstone of their business model for years is seen as a liability by major carriers due to high costs. I still know a couple of people working there, and having suffered through an airline shutdown myself earlier in my career, my heart goes out to them and I wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours. The only constant in commercial aviation is change.
