Color Vision Test Separate from Medical

I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered previously.

I know that I'll need to pass an alternative color vision test since I have trouble with the Ishihara cards. I want to try the FALANT, and am fairly confident I will pass it. What I would like to know is how the sequence of these tests should happen? I would like to have my local AME test me on the medical portion separately from the color vision, if possible. As far as I see it there are three possible scenarios:

1) I get my color vision tested after I have taken the medical test with my AME (and presumably failed the color portion of the test).
2) I get my color vision test prior to having my medical test with the AME.
3) Take both the color vision & medical with the same AME.

As I said before, I'd prefer options 1 or 2. If that is indeed possible, what kind of paperwork do I need to bring with me?

Thanks again Dr!

Do option 2 if the AME has the alternative color vision tests. If not, get the color vision testing elsewhere so you know before you go for the medical.

Ok, assuming the AME I go to does not have the color vision test that I need. If I do option two is there a form I can have the optometrist fill out so I can skip the color testing portion of the test during my medical?

Thanks!
