Color vision LOE question

I passed the Ishihara colorblind test back in 2003 to receive my LOE. The next time I went to an AME (a new guy), I presented the letter, and he said "let's do the test anyways." I told him the LOE I was holding in my hand said I didn't have to do the color vision test. His response again was, "I want to see for myself." I reluctantly took the test because I didn't know what else to say or do. I passed by two plates. He said, "see, that wasn't that bad." When in fact it was very stressful for me. What if his plates were terrible and I failed by one like I did my first time. Anyways, the next time I went back to him a couple years later, I showed him my LOE, he remembered and said, "you don't have to take it this time." That was a sigh of relief!

My question:
He recently retired and now I have to go to a new AME. Are they going to make me take the test again, even if I show them my LOE? Is there something I can say to them? I assume saying "no" flat out is a bad idea. Your guidance here is much appreciated.

The answer is no. The AME will not make you take the test. I am in the exact same situation you are, in fact ironically I got my LOE the same year you did, 2003. I take the test sometimes just for fun to see how I do. You could always call OKC to make sure though.
