Its a brand new function. Next on the list is to get UAL to let us see the fares from home.

Pass it on.

That's great. Now how do figure out imputed income from each flight?
Is it more for first class?
Thanks for putting that up.

I havent used a buddy pass yet, so I have no idea about imputed income.

I am also wondering about first and business. 2 times that my buddy and I have flown business, its listed at first. which leads me to believe its the same price.

It's not just on buddy passes. It's also on your designated pass-rider.

Being that imputed income is a tax, if they are charging more than the standard income tax rate on the sale value of the ticket, you are getting fleeced.

It does not matter who rides, it's the same value. Google the term, and then see if that's really what you're paying.

Do you guys pay an anual fee or do you have to pay per flight like some UAX carriers? If you have the anual fee, coach travel is not charged(domestic), first/biz there is a charge based on mileage.(For example 0-500 miles in first class comes to $17 and some change). For International travel, add taxes. If you pay per segment, take what I said and add $10 for domestic and (I think, may be wrong) $50 for internation on top of int'l taxes and cabin charges.

Priority sucks on the bennifits. You and anyone on your bennifits will be 8Cs on mainline UA or other UAX carriers, getting on AFTER the last United buddy pass gets on, which I find total BS. On your own metal, you will be an 8A, first on the standby list. However, UA employees will still bump your parents, and their buddy passes will bump yours on your own metal.

As for buddy passes, they should be 10% of the coach airfare. Always list UA buddies in first, there is no extra charge for a premium cabin.

I won't even use them yet. I haven't been able to successfully log into the website from home yet, and their Tech Support (frankly, everything related to intelligence in the non-rev department, including their phone-robot that doesn't understand english) is severly lacking and unhelpful. I spent 30 minutes on the phone just trying to figure out whether they wanted me to put a small "n" or a large "N" in the login field.

Secondly, it would be nice if Colgan didn't have to hold our hand with buddy passes. After booking one, you must submit your travel and have a middleman "okay" it. With the move to Memphis, who knows how long that could take!

Basically, I can't understand why they make it so difficult. Nonrev travel is difficult as it is with all the overbooked flights, at least they could make their website more user friendly and functional. I miss booking flights on thehub.usairways.com.

try to buy a ticket right before you go. It would be coach walk up fair I believe, from that airlines own web site

How do you know how much the "coach airfare" is?
I just go on United.com and search for an unrestriced coach ticket and see how much it costs, then multiply it by .10. You can also check it on skynet, but sometimes it will only display on airport computers, maybe try it in the crew lounge or the break room for your rampers. I was locked out of Skynet and had to list over the phone for 4 months until I spent THREE hours on the phone for someone to help me out and unlock my account(plus it was 1AM when I first called, who the hell were they talking to?). Its a pain, but has to be done if you want to avoid that damned automated phone number.

As far as "Authorizing" the buddy passes goes, it is a pain since when your airlines travel center is closed(weekends and after 1700 SLC time for Skywest), you can't list a buddy at the last minute. However, there is a good reason as to why you have to authorize it. There was a problem in the past of people figuring out how to use people's employee numbers and list themselves over the phone for a UA buddy pass. That doesn't fly anymore. If its authorized they know you aren't being scamed. If only UA had a 24/7 non-rev phoneline like WN does, then it wouldn't be so bad.

No problem, our travel site doesn't explain it very well either, I basically had to teach myself everything I now know by asking around here and there.

The only other thing I can think of off the top of my head that you guys might like to know is your buddies and parents may not travel in Int'l first class(domestic is ok) on UA unless you are with them. So be aware of that when you look at a flight and notice the back is full but first class is empty. Infact, plan that your buddies will be the VERY last people on the standby list if they aren't with you, UAX buddies travel at the same priority as someone from US, CO, LH, or any other star alliance carrier. Oh, and beware, mainline UA agents are dresscode nazis. One of them in MSP made my brother go and buy a polo($45) because his shirt had a logo on it, and this was for travel in coach mind you.

I'm not at Colgan mind you so I don't know about your company's travel site or anything, but if anyone else has any general questions about the UA bennies you can PM me and I'll try to awnser it for you. Don't find out the hard way about all this stuff like I did.
