Is it likely that Colgan will pull out of some current bases because the SAAB cannot go into them? It looks like AUG will be going through an expansion (additions of overuns) in order to get the SAAB 340.
It is not so much because of the runway length, but the crash fire rescue located at the airport.
I think AUG will most likely will go Saab sometime, as well as BHB and RKD. Those are lucrative routes for us in the summertime, we would make a killing with the Saab. The problem is RKD and BHB need a rescue boat.
How long have you been at Colgan?
What are your times?
325/25 so I still have a ways to go.
Get a few more multi hours, maybe 350/50TT and throw in some applications. You might get an interview.
Put your application in. You NEVER know. We need pilots badly. Are you from AUG originally? We also have the Saab up in PQI or 'the county' as they refer it to I guess.
I have to get these Maineisms down. I'm going to be based there shortly!
yessah! We do call it "the county" haha I did all my training in AUG so that is my home airport.
! Ha, yeah I will be based there soon...will be doing a two legger to EWR, should be fun! We should grab a beer at Margaritas sometime.
PS-Welcome to Jetcareers!
Thanks man! When does the PQI-EWR start?
PQI to BOS, no plans to bring that run down to EWR.
Seriously, put an application in. Just make sure you are instrument current and have studied the company.
PQI also does a turn from BOS to SYR right? As for nightlife you gotta go to Portland. Everywhere else is a drag.
Yes, the PQI crews typically do BOS-SYR turns also.
I figured they must because I noticed an afternoon flight (4960 - 4961) that works into their schedule. I also noticed that SYR just recently started BOS flying as well. Must be kind of nice to be able to mix up the day a little bit.
A rare luxury around here! It's definitely nice to be able to do more than just turns to a single airport.![]()
I see you are out of ABE. Do you get to do both U.S. Airways and United or just fly for one carrier?
Well, we fly both sides.....or at least we did before they yanked the Airways plane out of ABE. Now it's just United to IAD.![]()
