I have been interested in an airline career for quite a long time now and I've heard from several pilots that the military is one of the best routes you can take to eventually get a chance at an airline job. I have always been interested in the Coast Guard, but I wouldn't want to get stuck in helicopters if airlines only accept fixed wing time. I was wondering if anyone here knew what the chances would be of getting a C-130, HU-25, or any fixed wing slot in the Coast Guard? I was also wondering if it is possible to get in the Coast Guard through Navy ROTC or is OCS the only way to go other than the academy?
Thanks
