Well I finally completed the whole interview process and got the clearance from Jim today. What a relief...

.

Anyways, I am curious to hear anyones opinion that has attended the atlanta location and has also spent sometime in jax. I did tour and interview in atlanta so I have seen the area and the apartments. The apartments are really nice but the area around the airport seems... well I guess one may put it nothing too bad but yet nothing special. So basically whats jacksonville like? I'm 18 and just trying to get a feel which location would better suit someone my age.

Any comments are appreciated..

Sorry I missed your IM, I was at church..

Anyway, I used to live in ATL.. It's a nice place, I just don't care for it too much.. I LOVE Arlington/Dallas, so I'm gonna try and go there!

You might also consider Dallas. It's a great place to fly --

- Cross country's into and out of a Class B terminal area
- Cross country destination potential to both coasts (east coast career pilots dont make it past Dallas very often--at least from what I've seen)
- Training only in 2000/2001 Seminoles
- Nice apartments
- Lots of things to do in the area
- Texas Rangers down the street

Ask Captain Bob for his rundown of the list of "features" of the Dallas location.

i didn't do the program at either location but spent a considerable amount of time at both during my training. if i had to chose between the two, i'd go with jax.

Hollywood-

Thanks for your comments... but like you said you didn't attend atlanta or the jacksonville location but still spent a considerable amount of time there. Do you typically jump around to different locations throughout your training? I was told at the interview they conduct your CFI training in either atl or jax but wasn't aware you may have a chance of being at another location for other parts of your training... Is what you did normal?

you'll do your multi-private/instrument at the location you pick. then you'll be off on your cross countries visiting many atp locations on your voyage. i was in jax countless times on my cross countries and did my cfi training in atlanta. i also flew the citation in and out of atlanta and i was in and out of there a few times on cross countries. i like jax better. there's a lot of stuff to do around there and it doesn't take an hour to drive around the corner to get something to eat. in my opinion jax was a little more exciting being atp's "hub" theres always something going on.
