I stayed there back in June and July. It was decent. The staff was very friendly and helpful also. They also had free fruit and pastries Mon-Fri. But all of those places out there are decent. None are too great, and def none are worth the $40 per day they want you to pay. But overall, I was happy with Citadel.

I stayed at citadel for 3 months and I do have to say that compared to the other places this one far exceeded my expectations. The neighborhood it's in is 100 x safer then anything close to 23rd ave. Tue and thu they have hot breakfast. Rooms are clean and most are remodeled the staff is excellent and the manager liz is HoTTTT! If ur nice they might give u free rental car every once in a while. Any questions just pm me.

anyone know if this place (or any other decent places) allow dogs? I can't leave my beagle :(

I was looking around, there might be other places, but I saw on the FAA academy list for apartments that Isola Bella, Meridian Mansions, and the few companies listed on the site that provide furnished apartments in different communities allow pets. I don't know the details though.

Does anyone know which of the apartments (that allow pets) are the best, i.e clean, safe, etc...?

The faa site for housing has a symbol for the different ones that allow pets. I listed them in another thread, but off the top of my head I think Isola Bella was one of them and would probably be the safest and cleanest. This is based on what others have said and what I have seen through the web.

Looks like some of them allow dogs that look like this...

. Although I've never seen one that looked like that, so good luck with that.

I will give anyone a shiny nickel if they can find me one, just one, thread that BoomerSooner77 has not attempted to hijack. Do not be misled, although this post looks like he intends to help, his true intention is to lead the thread down a dark and twisted road.

C'mon... I am bored bored bored... waiting waiting waiting. :panic:

Just smile and nod when you see me post. Better yet, post more so that I am spending all my time trying to catch up on posts than posting myself. :D

Bump-- it's been a few months now, can anyone comment on Citadel now that you've been there a while? I need to start making phone calls, and it's high on my list right now, but I could use more info...

I wouldn't stay there again lets put it that way. It's decorated in early 80's ##### and has a weird smell. Not to mention somebody got shanked in the parking lot while I lived there. Yes that really happened. In all honesty it is one of the cheaper places there and is tolerable but after a while I just couldn't wait to get out. Oh almost forgot the constant sirens if you get a place near the road.

Well I actually called to reserve a spot a few weeks ago. The lady that answered was rude and acted annoyed with me right off the bat. I asked if the rooms were still $40/night and she just said "no, $45".

Then I asked if they had any extra storage space (since we are basically moving) and she simply said "one box". I paused to figure out what that meant, and tried to clarify, "so, there's room to store one box?" And she said something to the effect of "No! one box of storage." Well we went around a few times, and I still wasn't clear what she was talking about, and she made no effort to explain. I could tell she wasn't interested in the conversation so I just politely said "thanks"

Next I called Walnut Gardens, and it was a completely different story. The lady was very friendly and talkative. The rooms were still the same price, ($32 for me) and apparently they actually own a small self storage building not far from the apartments and give you half off if you're staying there.

So, no citadel for me.
