Fortunately Cirrus won this one. One of the issues was whether or not some training was provided- the block was left unchecked, but the CFI claimed the training was performed.

Glad that one was reversed. Being an idiot(VFR into IMC, EVEN IF instrument rated, which this guy was not) should be no reason a surviving family gets to sue and win.
