choosing between 2 flight schools

As I mentioned in an earlier thread a 152 for school A costs $85. I did a little research and found another school which is closest to me. Cost is $64 for their 152. The only problem, it's 40 miles away from base. The prices of the rest of the aircrafts are significantly less in school B. Is it worth the commute? (By the way I get about 32 mpg on my car).

go to school B. you are spending less even if your car gets the 32mpg. think about it. you will spend less then 10 dollars a day on gas add that to the price of the 152 ($64) and it is still considerably less. bring a good cd and enjoy the 45 min car ride. thats if you dont mind putting the miles on your car.

not at all. 1997 toyota camry w/ 90k miles on it and i don't mind the mileage at all. pretty reliable car. and yes i should burn some cd's. long as it saves me some $.

I remember in 1979 when I first started taking flying lessons, I had about the same choice. I could go to Santa Monica (CA) and fly a fancy new C152 or I could go to Fullerton and fly the older C150, but with a much longer drive. I think I got the C150 for $19 per hour wet (maybe even with the instructor). I never regretted that decision.
