Position Description


Chinook Test Pilot --- As a CH-47 Test Pilot in the BT&E organization, duties could include up to and including: Conducts or plans ground, flight and maintenance test flights for experimental, prototype and production aircraft to determine system functionality, aircraft performance and structural integrity of aircraft. Contribute to and coordinates flight test plans, procedures and techniques to achieve qualification or certification. Plans and develops technical reports and flight reports. Assist in evaluations or evaluates flight data (e.g., system performance, aircraft handling, equipment malfunction) and participates in aircraft design to recommend changes to design based on operational considerations. Collaborates on marketing, evaluation and demonstration activities for customers; conducts familiarization, demonstration and training flights. Job requires FAA ATP or Commercial certificate with the appropriate endorsements. Travel is required - domestic and international short term or long term assignments as needed.

Basic Qualifications For Consideration

Do you have experience in a CH-47 D, E, F or G model?

Do you hold a current Class II, FAA medical certificate?

Are you a graduate of an accredited test pilot school or possess a waiver in accordance with DCMA 8210.1?



Typical Education/Experience


Level 3 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Other Job related information


This position requires short term and long term international and domestic assignments. You must have the ability to travel and work irregular work schedules as needed. This position requires a minimum of a commercial pilots license, current physical and the individual must be a graduate of an accredited test pilot school or possess a waiver in accordance. Required: CH-47 experience
