SUMMARY


Responsible for safe, economical, consistent and legal operation of Company aircraft and is required to comply with all applicable federal regulations as well as AAR Airlift policies, standards and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Authorized to exercise operational control of company aircraft and flight operations. May delegate the function to others in accordance with operational control guidelines, but cannot delegate the responsibility.
  • Aid the Director, Standards and Training to establish and maintain the approved company ground and flight training programs for flight crewmembers, check airmen, and instructors associated with the company 14 CFR 135 operations.
  • Assist the Director, Operations to formulate operations policies and to coordinate the enforcement of those policies.
  • Advise the Director, Operations on the status of available flight crewmembers.
  • Responsible for the facilitation of flight crewmembers standardization.
  • Assist the Director, Standards and Training in preparation and maintenance of flight crewmember training, proficiency records, and all other documents pertaining to flight crewmember currency and qualification.
  • Prepare and maintain flight schedule reports and all other documents pertaining to flight crewmember duties and responsibilities.
  • Disseminate information to all flight crewmembers.
  • Submit required operating reports to the Director, Operations.
  • Ensure that all company flight crewmembers conform to standard procedures as outlined in applicable FAR's and the General Operations Manual.
  • Ensure that all flight crewmembers meet the qualifications of 135.243 or 135.245 as appropriate for the type of assignment.
  • Responsible for and shall assist the Director, Standards and Training in ensuring that all flight crewmembers maintain current route qualifications and receive proficiency checks as required by applicable FAR's.
  • This position requires a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION



Required:

  • B.A./B.S. degree from four year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman's Certificates - ATP is required for FW pilots.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE



Required:

  • Has completed the applicable curriculums required by the company's FAA Approved Part 135 Training Program.
  • Must be able to learn and become highly knowledgeable of the company General Operations Manual, General Maintenance Manual, FAA Regulations, NTSB Procedures, HMR 175, Operations Specifications, Aircraft Flight Manuals, and all other material pertinent to duties.
  • Carries a current medical certificate in accordance with 14 CFR 61.23.
  • Meets the qualification requirements of 14 CFR 135.245.
  • Is current and qualified per CFR 135.293, 135.297, and 135.299.
  • Meets recency of experience requirements of 14 CFR 135.247.
  • At least 1,500 hours of flight time of which 1,000 hours were acquired within the preceding three (3) years as Pilot in Command time in multi-engine airplanes.
  • Must report or have no accidents, incidents, or FAA sanctions within last five years.
  • Must be current and qualified as a pilot in the last 12 months.

Preferred:

  • 250 Hours in type of aircraft
