Checkride Pass Records

I've called our local FSDO, they were no help at all about clearing this one up. One of our instructors endorsed a student for a checkride, and left for airline ground school a few weeks before the check ride itself. The student goes and fails one portion of the checkride. Then the student and instructor (whom I know) calls to me and asks me to work with him on the failed area, which I do, and then re-endorse him under 61.49. He passes the checkride. Does this hurt my pass rate with the FAA? I wasn't his instructor for any of his training, I was just helping both the student and instructor out. I just don't want my records to take on a failure that I had nothing to do with. Oddly enough, this same instructor had another student fail today, and wants me to do the same.

This won't touch your pass rate. The other instructor's signature is on the paperwork so you have nothing to worry about there.

Just remember retests do not count toward your pass rate.

Thanks! I don't care about it counting towards mine, I just didn't want a failure on my record. God bless the FSDO for not just telling me that, and causing me to worry about it for the last few days.

A retest from someone else does not go toward your first time pass rate.

Should of had the "first time" part in my first post.
