Checking actual loads w/myidtravel

I'm just curious if there's a way to check actual numbers with airlines on myidtravel, specifically American. It's not a whole lot of fun when I have to rely on these guys --> o_O/:(to tell me whether or not I can make it onto a flight.

Is there a secret that I don't know about, or are we really just stuck with sad faces?

Thanks. I've done that with JB, never with AA though. But besides that, no way to check online? Just makes it a pain when you have 2 possible commutes home on opposite ends of the airport with one oversold, and the other an 'uncertain' face.

Join the "loadshare" or "non rev loads" group on facebook. Be advised though, AA recently came down on FAs for sharing loads publicly, and the population on those pages are largely FAs. As far as AA loads go, most inconsistent of any airline. I have been #1 on this list for a wide open flight and ended up in the JS due to last minute revenue standbys or Conversely, been 20 down the list on an oversold flight in a snowstorm in ord and got first class. So go figure, until 5 minutes prior, the smiley face predictor may be just as accurate. Anyone you know at airways can check loads on AA now as well btw.

you could always try here ahead of time.... #amirite @Derg ?

I could, but again this isn't a one time thing. This is a commuting back and forth every few days thing, which is why I was hoping for an easier method like DL or UA offer. I don't want to bother people with checking loads each time I need to commute. There's been many times when I finish my last flight and have to decide, do I go with the oversold UA, or do I go with the unsure smiley face on AA.

For UA commuting I recommend the United app, it allows you to check flight status and the standby list. For AA- you can call 888WEFLYAA and ask the non-rev desk about the loads, however, they are only open during central time business hours.
