I wonder how this would affect the airflow on the verticle stabilizer???

Well.....

Since the picture was taken on the ground it wouldn't affect it at all! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Chris, How do you figure that this is on the ground? It sure looks like it's in the air to me.

Our skydivers were talking about this type of thing a couple of days ago. A skydiver did a moronic stunt like that, the pilot almost lost control (high angle of attack + no rudder inputs = bad juju). They said the pilot landed, walked over to the skydiver and almost beat the s**t out of him. That would have been kinder than what I would have done. You always have to keep your eye on those skydivers...they don't have all their marbles. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Smilecrunch.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's not difficult to take that photo on the ground and edit it. It could be real but It would have been easier to just edit a ground photo like I said.

He's gonna jump from 12,500 ft without shoes? come on, second that dosen't look like a plane that could do 70 or less, if they are doing 100 kts plus, how can you grab hold of the vertical fin, after you jump. plus it just looks fake!

I gotta agree. This is either shopped or taken in front of a background. First of all, where is the photographer and what is HE hanging on to? The wing? Also, if they were flying at any kinda speed to keep the plane flying, I'm pretty sure this guy's feet would be behind him, not underneath him. No clothes blowing back, either. Look at the nice pretty creases on his sleeve.

It's a jump plane, they've got a place for the photographer to hold on to. There was a disscusion like this on another forum. The final verdict was that it was real.

Now there is a discussion on this forum and I think the verdict is not real... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/spin2.gif

Where was the discussion Alex, Airliners.net? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

won't eh freeze, like in that one scene in incredible Hulk, when The great green Hulk was on the F-22 and Jameson told th epilot to keep climbing, cuz hed freeze before the pilot did???? By the way I saw something like that on plan eand pilot, some chick an dher husband on an American Champion, riding outside on the wing while he does stunts..

If it doesn't affect aerodynamics and causes no harm to humans, let's just start adding seats to the wings and the outside of the airplane. Maybe boeing could do this to compete with the A380 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Think Boeing tried this with a Aloha Airlines 737 several years ago, and the pax didn't care for it much.

PS. I'm only kidding, because tragically, 1 life was lost due to the failure of the upper part of the airframe. And a loss of life is never funny. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
