Check in with your older kids

One of my wife's closest high school friends from Ohio, who was a groomsman in our wedding, stayed the night with us a few months back on his way to MYR. He was glowing talking about his son who was getting ready to start his second year at Youngstown State. Tragically, we found out that his son hung himself in his dorm room last week. No history of mental illness or outward signs of depression/anxiety. With all of the online extortion scams targeting young people, I hate to think of what might have gotten him to that point.

Can't help him, but do me a favor and check in on your older teens and young adult children. It ain't easy for them, and I'm sure they'd appreciate it.
