Hey all ~ I have to take the CFII written in a month or two, and was told to just study the instrument test prep (I like ASA). Does anyone know if there are other questions on this written that may not be covered in the test prep? CFI questions, maybe, like FOI stuff? Thanks, Fred

The CFII is almost the exact same as the Instrument written. The difference is that isntrument questions are not limited to just airplane, but to rotorcraft, lighter than air, etc. categories. Nevertheless, On my CFII written, I had maybe 1 or 2 of the non-airplane questions. I wouldn't bother with more than a quick glance at them if you're strong on the airplane questions.

I could be wrong... but I don't think that's the case. Taking a look in the Gleim (probably not the best source of info, but it was the only thing I could find), it says that the CFII test is for airplanes only. The only reason I looked is I didn't think that I had any questions on categories of aircraft beyond airplanes. I know the IGI had helicopter questions... but I think the CFII is airplane exclusive.
