CFII training

Well,

Finally got off my butt and started my II flying today.

It was a good IFR day here in the Lowcountry, 1000 ft ceilings and nice smooth air, with decent visability below the clouds (6 miles or so).

I'll tell you what though... it's a different ball game flying approaches from the right seat. My neck is stuck looking left

We did get about an hour actual today... Considering I haven't been in actual since 2000 (the year

not the altitude) I felt ok with it. I did have about 15 seconds of severe leans where I could've sworn we were spiraling right flipping backwards, but I'll be damned if the instruments didn't have us in a level climb

To make a long story longer... anyone ever have trouble with a REALLY slow GPS?
Comming in on the GPS 17 appraoch to East Cooper, it seemed to take FOREVER for updates on heading an position when making our turns?

Hopefully only a few more flights then the Checkride...

Just thought I'd share...

Yep, with Carroll, Hopefully...

I'm in Georgetown right now waiting for the right vacuum pump to get repaired...

Was going to do some last minute training, ILS in CHS with the DME arc and using the coupled autopilot, then some holds and the GPS back to East Cooper, but as soon as we took off, the "VAC R" light comes on... SO I dropped Alex (my trainig CFII) and headed up here to get it fixed.

Quick question... Do you need 3 hours dual in prep for the practical test for the CFII sign off?

If so, I guess you can count the .4 of emergancy/ PIC descision making in dicontinuing the flight as my last .4 for the 3 hours... it WAS with a CFII
