CFII PTS

As many of you know, the Instrument Airplane PTS was updated effective 10/1/04. Does anyone know if the Flight Instructor - Instrument PTS was updated as well?

I checked the FAA website on Friday, and as of then, no. Kinda strange, and I expect it to be changed in the near future, but not yet.

Summary of changes as I understand them: Steep turns no more, and you have to demonstrate the use of the autopilot in an approach, and the use of the GPS on the A/C.

Well, ironically, I took my CFII on 10/1/04 and even though Steep Turns have been removed from the IR ride, the DE was unsure if they had been removed from the CFII requirements, so... we did one.

[/ QUOTE ]The required =separate task= of steep turns have been removed from the IR ride. There are many who take the view that they are still fair game under "basic instrument flight maneuvers." I haven't seen anything specific from the Designee Standardization people, but I suspect they are right.
