I don't get it??? That doesn't even make sense....

Has the pay changed?

$15 an hour shouldn't get you a riddle rat, and certainly won't get you a professional instructor.

NickH, you are not going to apply, then move on. Stop picking on the business, bad mouthing it and spreading false information. I post an ad about a Seneca ferry and you tell people on the forum that we lost our multi engine airplane. I post and ad about a CFI position, you come here and you spread your venom again. There should be a forum rule against it..

Or if you are really interested, give me a call some day and talk to me in person. Hiding behing a user name, is not nice , it's not professional .

The fact that aviation is a small world goes both ways. Bad mouth an employer or company and theres a very good chance you may have talked yourself out of a future opportunity long before it even happens. The flip side is run a shady business or be a less than professional boss and word spreads like wildfire.

This is in no way directed at you Seattlepilot..I know nothing about Acuwings. What I do know is there seems to be an ongoing theme where you engage people tete-a-tete in the forums, at times even becoming personal. Certainly I understand you put in blood sweat and tears to build your business and defending your investment is admirable and to be expected. As Socrates said, "Regard your good name as the richest jewel you can possibly be possessed of." A professional however, even as lowly as a CFI, has a good reason to avoid even the appearance of impropriety.

I see no reason why you can't divulge more info and let that speak for itself. Being secretive about working conditions is hardly helpful in this case.

Vikingair,
very good points. Let me make one thing clear, there is nothing secretive about this business. Everyone can come in and inspect it all they want. You are correct about the fact that I put blood, sweat and tears into this business to build it from 1 airplane operation and a pipe dream to 11 airplanes in less than 5 years. I spent thousands of dollars fighting a City that doesn't want flight instruction in their airport by taking the case all the way to Washington DC.

On the other hand, it seams to me that some of the members of this board didn't even get to know anything what Socrates meant. NickH has been constantly talking trash about this business.

I don't even know who he is. May be someone who didn't like the offer we made to him.. Then you move on...
On another thread someone disseminated bad info about our company that was not based on fact. This person, came to us, got checked out for free on all of the airplanes and when she found another job she left telling us 'My brother died in a car crash. I need to be with my family' ..Yet it seems to me that people like this hold more credibility on these boards than someone who is willing and looking to hire an experienced instructor.

You are correct, aviation is a very small community. A pilot friend of mine reminded me that 'the toes you are stepping onto might be connected to the asses that have to kiss one day'.. I think you get the picture..

The other thing is, I have always hired instructors according to my perception of their personal integrity.(Although we have made mistakes before) You can teach someone how to teach properly, but you cannot teach a person the integrity.

So, instead of hijacking my own thread, the position will become available mid March. If there is anyone willing to work , here's an opportunity. If you are interested , apply. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for posting the job SeattlePilot. Those that aren't interested, please keep your displeasure to PMs. It's really not a good idea to attack people posting jobs on this site, as it sets a bad precedent. If you don't like it, then don't apply.

Translation,

"I don't want time building Riddle rats. I want experianced professional CFIs who know how to teach."

But if you have 1000 PIC, then don't you have to have 500 flight hours?

It's 141 Assistant Chief Requirements just w/ jacked up wording.

The second line is not total time it's dual given.

I assumed it was dual just not worded correctly, but it shoud be changed cause it makes no sense the way it is now....

If I do the "AcuWings Direct Hire Program", do I HAVE to work for gulfstream after 9 months? Also, does the program guarantee a major airline job after 48 months?

Before this thread gets out of hand, please let me clarify my previous post. I know nothing about AcuWings, and I am not trying to put them down or stir the pot at all. I am interested in how the program is involved after the comm/inst/multi certificate. If a student chooses another airline, does that end the direct hire program? Is the timeline from the website simply an example of how one's career path can progress? Is AcuWings affiliated with any major carriers in some kind of preferential hiring program, etc?

I am not affiliated with Acuwings, but even if they have some connection to any major carriers I doubt it is worth much at this point in time. To give you an example, ALLATPS has hiring agreements with a number of regionals but they aren't worth the paper they are printed on right now. Two years ago, people were getting hired with less hours than the reduced minimum hiring agreements, but not anymore. In addition, I doubt we will see anything like what we saw two years ago for a very long time (especially if a 1500 hr. rule is passed). Not trying to bust your bubble, just trying to give you a realistic answer.
Good luck.

Thanks, no bubble to burst though, I know better than that...I'm just curious about how the program works.
