CFI Excel Spreadsheets

Ajax

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hey guys, I tend to use excel whenever it can make my job a little bit easier. Sometimes it is actually made out of necessity, but most of the time it's because I get bored and waste time with it. Anyway, I figured I'd post these sheets that I use periodically with the off chance you guys might like them.

The first one is a 61.189 log, it keeps track of your checkride endorsements, solo endorsements, and written endorsements. Aside from just a place to keep a record of them it will keep track of how many checkride signoffs you have given and your pass percentage. From there it will keep track of the checkrides that would count toward a renewal or gold seal, the pass percentage of those, and if you are eligible for a renewal or a gold seal renewal.

The second one is kind of simple. At my school we train mostly out of 172SP NAVIIIs and this is an excel spreadsheet to do weight and balance. It would take a little bit of tweaking as yours certainly won't be the same as ours, but it will plot your takeoff weight and zero fuel weight within the moment and cg envelopes.

The last one is just a carb ice graph, taken from this special airworthiness information bulletin, when given the temperature and dewpoint it will plot the point inside the graph to visualize whatever carb ice risk their may be.

I've never done google docs to share, so I hope it works. If it doesn't just let me know. They won't show up correctly in the browser, but if you click the links you should be able to download them from the new page that is opened by clicking the "File" button in the window.

They aren't perfect. Please let me know if there is anything wrong and I'll try to fix it, or I'll try to help you fix it if you would like to customize one of them.

Thanks for sharing. My wife hates excel, but I use it whenever I can. It just makes life so much easier...

or you could just keep these records in your own log book and maybe even use a highlighter to make them easier to find

Like in a separate section or mixed in with your flight time? I think I like the idea of keeping a separate log so I know right where to go if needed. I haven't gotten my CFI yet so I have no idea what actually works best in practice.
What does everyone else do?
