CFI/CFII needs work

Hi everyone, I am a newly minted CFI/CFII making my first post and reaching out for guidance. I am older than most new CFI's because I decided to make a career change a year and a half ago. I am in central florida right now but will be moving back to the Atlanta area and am looking for some work instructing. I only have 250 hours TT and most of the schools I have contacted are not interested in someone with such little time.

Anyone know of someone I could contact there? I am also looking for advice/guidance from people who have been through it and made it work.

Thanks everyone!

Might not be able to limit yourself to a specific geographical area. You have to go where the jobs are. Then once you build up your time you might be able to narrow it down a bit more. Speaking from experience....

There are A LOT of flight school in/around the Atlanta area. Not sure if anyone is hiring or not though. I'm not sure if its still the same way, but Skybound at PDK will let you use their planes and you bring in your own students for a small fee ($5 or something like that) on top of the rental rate for their resources and you charge what you want for instruction.

Hey man. my flight school I work at in Texas is hiring like crazy! if you come down for an interview and do well enough there I could pretty much garauntee you a job. PM me ASAP for details and I will fill you in. My advice if you dont want to move is first consider moving where the work is and if not that, dont give up. Also, find things in the field you could be around other pilots with. I chose volunteering at a flight museum. Good luck!

We are hiring immediately at 424 Aviation in Miami, Florida. We prefer CFII/MEI with Duchess time but enthusiasm and good work ethic is paramount. We have 9 open students which need attention immediately. We also have 300 Discovery Flights to do which for the right person should net plenty of work. Housing is available and you can work year round. We are an authorized Cessna Pilot Center and operate 172's with Skycatchers on order. You can fax your resume in to us. Please check our website at www.424aviation.com. Good luck with your career!
