I am a student pilot in the process of getting my Private Pilot Certificate. Am I required to carry my third class medical certificate with me while I am flying?
Just to be technical, and correct me if I'm wrong, but he wouldn't need it if his instructor is along.
All except the logbook. A student pilot only needs to carry it on cross country flights.Anytime you solo you need your medical/student certificate with the appropriate endorsements and your logbook with the appropriate endorsements.
Even asking this question is pure flame bait...
I always do carry it with me, but I do not like carrying it with me because I have a better chance of losing it than having it at home.
Flame bait? Maybe I don't know the correct definition of flame baiting, but I think it was good that he as a student pilot, knew what he didn't know and found a way to find the answer.
Though, yes his instructor should just be a phone call away.
Several people have it correct. You do not need to carry your medical or your pilot certificate (student pilot certificate in your case) with you unless you are exercising the privileges of the certificate. For a student pilot, the only time you would be exercising the privileges of the certificate is if you were solo or carrying the examiner during the practical test (check ride).
