and no, it's not 'normal', at least not here. If we have one MEL it's an odd day.

Gotta love Mesa. NOT!

Wanna switch? I can't stand Pepsi, and the Sierra Mist is getting old. :)

I'd KILL for a freaking Sierra Mist instead of freaking Diet Pepsi leg, after leg, after leg.......

I could buy my own soda but........, oooh, that was a funny feeling, sort of like I went insane there for a moment.

i just finished reading the entire series of articles this one article was based on and I'm kinda sick.

My only hope is they don't do this same sort of thing for the regionals. I can't imagine what would be said about mx practices, low time pilots in the cockpit, the pinnacle crash and gulfstream academy, etc. etc.

I didnt even read the article, but lets be honest. 135 piston single pilot freight never has and never will be as safe as 121 turbine two crew passenger flying.

That was one of the more ignorant statements I've ever read. How so? How is what I do less safe than a regional who hires people with three hundred hours? Do tell please!

dood, am I really going to have to teach you how to count? 135 freight piston operators have more fatal crashes per flight hour than 121 turbine passenger operators. why did I even bother to spell that out for you?

It's dude, not dood. I know how to count but thanks anyway.

Mnixon,

Keep in mind, until the regionals start falling out of the sky, then everybody will argue that they are safer...wait until they start getting higher times on their airframes and things start going wrong. I hope it never happens, because then people really will be afraid to fly, but the writing's on the wall. As far as regionals go, there are some that i will not put my family on when we/they are travelling due to hiring practices (read: Mesa, GoJets, and Gulfstream will never get my business, nor will their partners that put my family on them). If there are any connections using any of these, then it's a no-buy ticket. There are others, but those are the major no-go places.

Agreed. You know I have to fly a caravan tonight, so if I don't make it back because I fall out of the sky simply because the nature of my flying, peace out.

That's all I fly now, so I should have been dead a long time ago! Have a good day flying!!

Single engine IMC at night! Y'all be crazy! ;)

The 'ho and van seem to do about the same after losing an engine though..

At least I get overhead switches!

Okay now that more intelligently describes my thoughts that I was trying to express. A brand new crj that automatically does everything and has two people watching it to make sure it behaves, has better odds than a 25,000 hour c402/be58/pa31/etc.
PS. Gulfstream, Gojets, and Mesa are ho's

Damn, it took a while for this to turn into a freight vs regional thread. I was expecting this at least a day or two ago.....

Yeah, yeah, but do you have Beta??!!?!?! I'm sooo glad to only have to worry about 1 airframe now! It's a great feeling!!! I kinda miss floating, though. Sad, isn't it?

Do ya'll think my new RATO is unsafe?
