CAPTAIN PILOT

Be a Part of the Future….National Security Technologies, LLC (NSTec), a prime contractor to the U.S. Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA), has an immediate opening for a Captain Pilot. Work location will be the Remote Sensing Laboratory at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, NV. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are required.

Successful candidate will perform in the capacity as Second-in-Command (SIC) in a Bell 412 Helicopter with eventual upgrade to Pilot-in-Command (PIC). Deploy for durations up to two weeks as a crewmember aboard aircraft or via commercial means to perform remote sensing missions worldwide. Develop written mission planning documents, risk/hazards assessments for missions, perform and provide safety and mission briefings to the technical crew, e.g., aerial photographers, mission scientists, and electronic technician/operators. Perform other work as assigned by the supervisor.

Successful candidate shall possess a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautics, Aviation, in related field or equivalent training and experience and at least five years' relevant experience in a recognized aviation specialty. Candidate must be properly and currently qualified to exercise the privileges of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Commercial Pilot in both Rotorcraft Helicopter with appropriate instrument rating and Airplane Multi-Engine Land with appropriate instrument rating. Candidate must meet and be able to maintain the medical standards prescribed by Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and hold a current Class II Medical Certificate. Candidate must have the ability to meet the Deployment Authorization Program (DAP) requirements and be willing to deploy for durations up to 2 weeks as a crewmember aboard aircraft, or via commercial means to perform remote sensing missions throughout the United States. Candidate must have documented flight experience that meets or exceeds the following requirements: 1,500 pilot hours in Rotorcraft Helicopter category of which at least 500 hours were logged as Pilot-in-Command (PIC). Recent multi-engine land airplane experience with preference towards the B-200 turbine aircraft flown within the preceding 2 years'. Other requirements include a thorough knowledge of FAA regulations, especially Part 91, General Operating and Flight Rules, and an understanding of public aircraft operations. Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills. Desired: Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI) and Certificated Flight Instrument Instructor (CFII) ratings in Helicopter and/or in Airplane Multi-Engine; FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating; 2,500 hours total flying time; 150 hours in Rotorcraft, helicopter category within the past 12 months; multi-engine turbine time and/or formal training in the Bell 412, such as Simuflite, FlightSafety, etc.; 200 hours multi-engine land experience within the preceding 2 years and have previous remote sensing pilot experience.
