Is this the United Captain that ahs the USA Today column and her own site? I can remember reading her column and then all of a sudden it seems the powers that be had some issue with it. Her site changed after that.
 
I swear to god that I saw her yesterday on the United employee shuttle at Ohare and I believe her name is Meryl Getline.
 
Nope! Actually someone no one on the site knows except MQAAORD and Kristie, I was sending a picture to Kristie but it went to the server as well.
 
My father knows her from his UA days, everyone senior at UA knows of her. At one time she was one of the youngest people to become a Captain not to mention the first female Captain at UA and has never had to sit right seat in her entire career.

I know of her, but not the never sitting right seat. What's the story on that? Unfortantly I cannot ask my Dad about her, as we would of known. Hard to believe it was 10 years ago yesterday..:(
 
Nah, it's one of our friends that I mentioned that is an FO and owns an L-39 (in the thread where Mr_Creepy said that anyone who is an employee doesn't/can't own a jet). It really wasn't supposed to go to the server and just go to Kristie but I messed up! :)
 
More importantly what airport is it at? The big alien eggs should give it away ...

Being that Doug appears to be in his civies, I am going to guess it is SLC and he is either on his way to or from PHX. Is it correct? Do I win a prize?

I didn't look up the direct quote. So I may, in fact, have misquoted Mr_Creepy.

But for all fairness, whatever Mr_Creepy said he said is what he said and may not be what he said in the above quote that I said he said!

(clear as a heavy lead curtain? :) )

I must have missed this. An employee that owns his own jet? At what level? This guy works for someone else and he owns what, a Citation I or something?

I should have said "No one who has sole income from one job"

I still insist that you don't find rank and file employees owning corporate jets anywhere close to the percentage of business owners.

I do not consider CEOs to be rank and file employees, because they usually have a significant equity poisition in the companies they work for (i.e. Jonathan Ornstein owns over 7% of Mesa.)

ok ok ok lets move on - I've made a big enough deal over this rather "trivial pursuit" issue.

If anybody feels like it, please elaborate as to why Captain Meryl is a scab ? From reading this thread I can tell she obviously isnt to well liked among the careers guys...just wondering why. I've been to her site and pretty much know what she does with the fearful flyer stuff and photo blogs...but anyways just wondering
 
My friend says that she crossed the picket line at UAL back in 1985.
