Cape Air - SIC

I have an interview this week for that position, you can apply with less than those times, ive heard of people getting the FO interview with 900TT

1400 hours for a 402 SIC? You can be flying at any 135 company as a PIC with those times.

Yeah, but Cape Air is 121, and you need ATP mins to fly PIC for them, so this is their way of getting people on with them...I can just imagine how hard a time they are having with all the jet jobs out there, and all these new pilots going to "first job that calls". Now, imagine finding people for older 402's with ATP mins...and 200 hours multi!? If you like their style, or need 121 PIC time, or any number of reasons (living on the beach), then it could be worth it.

And, I have a couple buddies there that love it there, FWIW. I've tossed the idea around a little, just to join the regional ranks.

Hahaha, just kidding on that last statement, but I have tossed the idea around a little...probably will happen about the time I go to China to fly a Caravan, but it's in the back of the mind!:insane:

The only thing that's taking me to the regionals is a need to move back to the midwest, and even then I'll probably give Airnet a call first.

Move to San Diego and enjoy the scenery of the Gaslamp District, or go to Pacific Beach, try the Pacific Beach Bar and Grill on a Friday or Saturday night.

You will be like...."Midwest? Where is that? I'm in LOOOOOOOOOOVE."

Be careful on your information. The Cessna 402s are not operated 121 for Cape Air. The only 121 flying for Cape Air is in the ATRs in Guam (for those of you who don't know where that is, Open google earth, look on the other side of the planet in that big blue area). 402s are operated 135. For those of you who say "but wait, what do I need ATP mins for them and not for a 135 freight company?" We are a SCHEDULED 135 operation. If you look up the regs, scheduled requires the captain to have an ATP. If you are thinking that your going to come to Cape Air to get the coveted 121 time in a 402 you are badly mistaken, but probably mis-informed. Is it better then watching an autopilot fly a RJ from BOS to CVG, most defiantly.
