Canard question on Rutan Long Ez

I have been trying to find out if the canard on the Rutan Long EZ has a movable trailing edge like aileron or if its just a a straight lifting surface. I know its a lifting canard but after watching some YouTube videos I thought I could see it move as the airplane was turning. Any help greatly appreciated:)

It has an elevator just like a conventional tail.

Just wait for somone to try to explain why the Piagio Avanti (sp?) isn't a canard...

I would contest that it basically is a canard design, with an additional lift generating surface at the tail. I'm often wrong, so my opinion is probably not valid.

Is it a canard, yes, is it a conventional, yes. The forward surface provides lift. The aft surface provides control. I don't know if it's a canard or not. I would think it's a hybrid. I'm no enginer, so don't treat this as gospel. And thats my $.02, now I'm broke:(

I'd call the Avanti a tandem wing design. Pitch is controlled via the conventional elevator. The "big" wing is placed farther aft than normal to allow the spar to pass behind the cabin, and the "canard" is placed forward to balance it. My .02 :)
