I am a master's student conducting an experiment that involves flying Continuous Descent Approach. Also, another student is doing a study on real time simulations of aircraft flying in the National Air Space, with pilots assuming different roles and responsibility for maintaining separation assurance.

For each study you would be trained on desktop simulation software developed by NASA Ames Research Center. You would be asked to answer questions on your general workload levels. We can reimburse your traveling cost if you are in the LA area (we can discuss further when you contact us) and interested in coming to participate. We can also provide transportation within the LA area as well.

Just helped this guy out. Pretty cool and the actual approach flying only takes about 1.5 total. By the way.. he said he posted this ad on climbto350 and he got a whole bunch of random resumes for pilot positions from around the country. One guy was willing to come if airfare was paid.:eek: Sign of the times........

By the way, 6 more are needed. Preferably in the LA area....................

In 2008 I was fortunate enough to be one of the few research pilots at NASA AMES to help develop and research this. Truly amazing stuff coming out for pilots in the future... i think 2015 was the platform they projected for the B777.

Thanks for all the pilots that replied to and who participated in my experiment. I have currently run the max amount of pilots needed for my study.

There will be other postings from our lab later this summer if anyone is interested in helping out other students.
