C-208 F/O position in Hawaii

So whats the latest over there in Maui. Are they reducing mins?
Once you start flying do you still do your time on ramp, maintenance etc
or is that confined to your first couple months there before you start flying. I saw on the website they are looking for a new Chief Pilot.

no im not an AP i just helped them out over there before they booted me back to the counter cause they didnt have enough people up there.

yeah so i dont work there anymore. i swear when i started it wasnt that bad of a place but over the last 6 months or so it has gone downhill really fast. 3 pilots including myself quit day before yesterday. i would recommend other options. im going to be staying in hawaii for a little while, i have an interview with a different airline and i feel like ill get a job there. so hopefully ill be moving to kona next month!
 
good luck Skrob....if Robs the DO over at mokulele(I assume thats where youre going), hes a real stand up guy. Threw me a pretty kick ass party a couple years ago.

He was the DO at PW before some major BS went down.
 
yeah they seem like a much better company. Mokulele put a flyer up by their desk in OGG saying Hiring Captains and First Officers, and then in small type underneath it says "Come and work for a company where you can feel freen to say hi to whoever you want" - thats hillarious if you know what working at PW is like.

HAH...when I worked there a capt and an FO quit to go fly for another company. Well they were all of a sudden "off limits" for us to talk to. One other Captains saw them on the ramp and walked up and said hi and was fired that day!

Skrob, any idea what the mins are at mokuele for captain. I have 1600tt and around350 chieftain. My sister-in-law just moved to hawaii and now my wife has the iitch. Just wondering what the mins are and how much they pay? Thanks for any help.

Be patient with a lot of the places out here, they tend to take a more relaxed approach to the hiring process but if you are just interested in a job out here, I am getting ready to abandon ship for a better offer on the mainland. yeah for the most part i agree with the shady part of flying in hawaii, but from what ive seen mokulele would be the exception. they seem like a pretty honest and good company. i decided not to fly with them but its only because im tired of living out here and want to get closer to the midwest. my guess is that if you have 1200 hours theyd take ya, but they are getting rid of the cheiftans so if you were to fly those itd only be a couple months until you were flying all caravans. for what its worth.
