C-208 F/O position in Hawaii

all good so far, they moved me over to Mx to help out the A&Ps. im diggin it. really looking forward to flying though!

I applied to this carrier but i was not too happy about the pay and the contract. Any chance of finding this type of gig in the states guys????:confused:
 
no not yet, ive been given an Oct. 2 ground school date... so thats promising. i was informed i had to wait because they wanted to put a couple new captains and another first officer that started after me in the same class. i did fly nonrev last night just for the heck of it over to Lani, we dropped off some pax and the flight back was a training flight for one of the new captains that came along. pretty cool seeing the islands at night. we did the GPS appch for rwy 2, the ils for rwy 2, and an engine failure. the new guy seemed like he knew what he was doing. i was working the counter before the flight so i didnt think to have my headset, so i couldnt listen to them but it wasnt hard to figure out what was going on and it was just nice to be up in the air in one of the planes. we landed and taxied over to the maintenance hanger and ate pizza with the mechanics. pretty cool night.
 
What other outfits does Hawaii have out there for low time pilots? Any good flight schools to instruct at? I would really just love to go out there and surf for 6 months to a year!
 
sounds like your having a good time out there Skrob. Please keep us mainlanders updated on the job. Once I get this instrument training monkey off my back, I may join you out there.
 
hey sorry, no internet for a while. yep im flying alot lately actually - 15.2 in the last couple days. ok im going back to sleep.

They looking for mechanics? I wonder if they would take an A&P who can fly some on the side.
 
the mechanics are really cool guys. they definatly could use another AP or 2. The director of maintenance is also a captain and one of the other APs is a first officer. i used to work over there with them helping them out before they put me back at the counter.

How are you enjoying HI...especially over on Maui? Oahu is such a drag and I can't wait to leave here. Seriously, I need to have my head examined for saying I am ready to move back to the mainland but really, my head is not here.
