From DZ.com 2000hrs seems kinda high for a 206, they must pay well.

Todd Davis
Address: San Diego, California United States
Wanted: Cessna 206 jump pilot in southern CA
I am looking for a commercial pilot who already lives in southern California and has at least 500 hours of jump flying experience. Additionally, 2000 hours of total flight time. Cessna 206 make and model time is a plus. Please do not send a resume if you do not meet these qualifications. Resumes goto todd.w.davis at gmail.com

haha if I get furloughed from Eagle id do it, if it came with an otter and 1k/week
Lets hope you don't get furloughed. This is a crazy industry. Seemed like yesterday eagle was soaring and promising, and in a instant things take a turn for the worse.

eh we havent turned for the worst YET. If you want to be accurate stick to the facts and not any speculation. We have 20 on furlough which had JUST started class and were put on hold till we know more. As of now only 19 airplanes are being parked and the jets are being flown to the max to replace it. Displacements for that base yet, however no further info is known yet. Everything else is still be seen. So right now its just up in the air!

By how much $$ would those kind of hours reduce insurance premiums for the operator? Only reason I can think of for this (cut-rate jump outfit), or maybe just someone who has really unrealistic expectations of who their pilot may be....

If my memory is correct they a caravan that I have seen them looking for a pilot for in the past. Maybe they want someone who can fly it, however they are not advertising it that way because they are one of the honest DZOs out there and are not using the turbine to make someone chase a carrot.

Fell for that one.

Why yes we have a King Air, the engines are timed out we should be getting new ones later, and later. Oh here is our 206, but you can't fly it, with out some training. But you can go ahead and fly me around in a C-182, you want to get paid to fly it? Hahaha, you must be kidding right? You know there are several pilots lined up around the corner who would pay me to fly in this airplane. I could probably charge them for that magic 'high performance' time they are getting...I did get about 50 hours in the 206, a few more in the 182, the King Air is sitting on stands in a corner of the airfield, probably never to fly again. The 206 has not flown in over two years, I was probably the last one to fly it. And the PAC pilot held the monopoly on that plane for several years...somehow I ended up in Vegas flying that 206...whole other story... I'm done with dropzones and Cessnas, for now. I'm going to Wake Island. Thank you very much.

I think 2000tt is still pretty high even for a Caravan. I've seen Twotter and King Air dropzones list mins of 1000tt with 25 in type.

Agreed. I got a job flying a Twotter in the left seat with 1300TT. I'm trying to figure out what DZ this is posting is for. Pacific Coast Skydiving?

DZ owners can be some real dbags, if your not hired to fly a turbine, you never will, thats my advice. If you obtain the time to fly a turbine and the boss wont let you, bail for a regional, esp right at the start of the season.

I agree and disagree with that statement, to fly a turbine when starting out as a piston jockey can be a struggle but can be done, seen it on several occasions.
