How many more people especially civilians should die untill United States gives up being a tight a** so Iran can buy spare parts and also new planes from either Boeing or Airbus.
This was an accident man, I don't think we should turn this into an international political opinion fight....And whether the US is withholding parts from Iran or not is a mute point, for if the airplane was not airworthy and did not have something working on the MEL isn't it the PIC's job to catch that and NOT fly??Aero_Engineer said:How many more people especially civilians should die untill United States gives up being a tight a** so Iran can buy spare parts and also new planes from either Boeing or Airbus.
The funny thing is they are sad for the lost lives but United States Navy was the one who shot an airliner with more than 200 people inside claiming they thought it was an F 14 Tomcat that belonged to Iranian Air Force.
It is just sad, because I love this country so much but when I see something like this getting repeated again and again it makes me doubt everything.

Yeah, I'm sure the US NAVY shot that plane down on purpose.

....you're sure on the right track to do so. :bandit:Aero_Engineer said:I am not gonna start a heated political argument, but....

Aero_Engineer said:And if you want to blame Europe you can't because at this moment there are a number of A330s and A340s in Koln ready to be delivered to Iran Air but they are not because US is being TIGHT A**.

Interesting read. Fleshes out the details of how a chain of bad decisions can lead to a tragic event. In SeaSparrow "C" school, we were always reminded of the incident in the early 90's between the Saratoga and a Turkish frigate which also ended in tragedy as a result of poor decision making.FlyNavy said:That was a tragic incident that is a case study in how not to make decisions under pressure for thousands of young military officers today. Here is a very good review for those who'd like the detailed account.
