Buying Tickets

My family will be traveling to Las Vegas soon and I'm just curious to know how most of you buy tickets. Do you use travel sites, the airline's site, travel agents or ??? I want a good deal but yet a good flight, if thats even possible anymore....

Search with a site like orbitz, or travelocity, then once you find a deal buy the tickets on the airlines website, that way you save booking fees. Also if you buy last minute, you can buy flights, hotels, and a car as a package cheaper than the flight tickets, but that is normally only for weekend trips.

I always start off with the major travel sites like orbitz or cheaptickets. However, these sites do not show you some of the LCC's such as Southwest and Jetblue. So after I go to orbitz I will check out Southwest.com and Jetblue.com to see if the fare is cheaper.

Yeah, I would have to agree w/ starting out w/ sites such as expedia/orbitz/travelocity first. It would also help if you actually went to the individual airline websites as well b/c sometimes the fares are cheaper for instance on delta.com or aa.com than any of the travel sites. Just surf around a little while until you find something you like.

Priceline!! It really works. If you're not too concerned about what time you arrive and leave (which you may be) you can definitely save 50% or more off Orbitz, Travelocity, etc...

www.mobissimo.com is also good. Its a travel search engine that finds the best deals off all the sites. It also has non-US sites which are cheaper a lot of the time.

Forgot one thing, before you select your seats go to Seat Guru and they will tell you the best seats to sit at on most airlines.

Cool site.

I go to Orbitz.com and look around. I usually look at the two best airfares for the itineray I am looking at and go to that airlines website. Like everyone has said the airlines website usually has the same fare for a few dollars cheaper. I'd even call the airline to as suprisingly the fare may be even cheaper. Thats happened to me a few times.
