Busy Repo Man

I flew a Falcon 10 with a Repo Guy last year. He was like the Indiana Jones of Aviation. He had more adventures them me and I used to hunt men for a living.

For the longest time I tried to get into the airplane repo business but couldn't really get anywhere. Now that would be a job!

How does repo work for jets or anything that requires a type?

Do they do the flight under some weird, special regs or something??

More capable...

What are these 'other databases' that shows location of aircraft movement without use of flight plan data?

Seems like it would be a little bit safer than repo-ing cars (as far as confrontation). Many people wouldn't be anywhere near their aircraft during normal business hours.

I remember seeing an airplane repo on one of those specials on the Discovery Channel (I think)... IIRC, the guy even did a quick preflight before hopping in.

I remember that one too, It was very much a "CFI's preflight" Oil, fuel, all the important bits, now lets get out of here.

There is an SR-22 that has been sitting in the back of the hanger here that is about to get repoed, but a local cirrus dealer I think might be buying it.
