Anyone instructing near Boulder, Colorado?

I have a student heading up that way who needs a reccomendation.

Does it have to be Boulder? I know of a couple of schools at the nearby Jeffco (BJC) airport that I'd recommend... McAir and Journeys come to mind. I'll drop some names of CFIs to try for if he's interested.

Jeffco is the nearest airport to Boulder.

Not quite - we do have our own airport. KBDU. I am not sure what schools are around Boulder these days, there was a recent shift in the local flight school market it seems. One of my buddies was instructing out of Boulder and is now over at Erie instead. He said something about new and old schools opening/closing and moving around.

Jeffco is a good place to go though. I would highly recommend McAir.

When did they build that? I joined the Navy out of Boulder in 1979, so I suspect there may have been some changes since then.

Hmm...the airport's official page says 1928. Are you sure you have the right Boulder in mind? There has been a bit of mind altering drugs floating around here for a long time. Ya know, hippies and all :)

I live in Boulder and instruct out of Journey's KBJC. Although I do have a C172 based KBDU.

BTW Jeffco=Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport

Aviation Services is the now defunct FBO on the field. Journey's Aviation is opening up another operation at KBDU, but they are still in the process of making the moves. I also have a website I put together just the other day, please go online check it out and give me some feed back. I tried to keep it as simple as possible.

Boulder's airport is really small and only has a glider school and the FBO if you want training as far as i know.

I used to fly out of Journey's at KBJC and they are very professional, great staff, just moved into a new building after acquiring and merging with another business, and KBJC is busy but not too busy for a new student. They also have Diamonds, as well as choices in cessna's and whatnot

Thanks guys, I've passed this information on. The guy seams like a good student, transitioning from gliders, so he's not short on ability.
