Bought a Bose...

Got a Pilot anr; my friend just got a Bose and let me try it inflight, it's not much quieter and not much more comfortable than what I have, and mine was less than 1/2 the price.

Bose makes a couple of different styles of ANR. The newest is the X's. I too have tried them and sent them back...They just aren't worth the price. I now use Pilot-Communications PA-1179's. They have more features than bose and are just as quiet. Plus they don't eat batteries like Bose. The only drawback is they don't fit in my flight bag as well.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bandit.gif

Bose is the Nike of soundsystems. Their speakers are way overpriced and they look nice. I've worn the headset before, yea they're nice. Not woth a solid grand though. They seemed fragile (im sure they're not) but I like my sturdy $500 DCs and you get the same noise reduction. Just my opinion...
