Bose X U-174 to GA?

Wasn't sure which forum to stick this in...but thought the MIL guys would have a better shot at answering this. Anyway, I have a BOSE X headset I use in my military aviation job (U-174 plug) and would like to use it in GA. I understand that the impedance is lower in the military mics than the GA mics. I have seen the adapters and wanted to know if anyone have used these or has a recommendation for a good adapter? Also, I know the Bose has a good number of micro switches, so are those used to adjust the impedance as well? Thanks...:)

I've used the MarvGolden JB23 Military Headset Converter with the AMC issued David Clarks, works well. Should work OK for you also.

I've used a couple of the different converters to use my mil headsets (DC and Bose X) in civvie planes. They work OK but have occasionally been pretty quiet both ways on comm. Best thing I woudl recommend for the Bose though is to shell out the $195 on the Bose site and actually get the civvie dual plug.

Simple too, you unscrew the two screws on the gray plastic boom mic plug piece and pull it off and replace it with the other one. It's literally a snap in snap out and nothing more. Assuming you're not going to be going between the two types of flying several times in the course of a day it's not a hassle at all. No impedance issues, no quiet transmissions, no interphone issues. Since I left the AF I'd been using the Bose that way, although I recently moved on to a Lightspeed Mach 1. SOOOO much better.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. I like the Bose a lot, but don't do very well outside the plane (C-5), so figured I might be able to use them in GA. :)
