Blue Angels

Speaking of early, isn't it 5:50AM in PHX?

Nope, we're an hour ahead of California now. No daylight savings time in AZ.

I usually get up after Kristie's hair dryer gets turned off. Strange routine. She finishes her hair, the cats start meowing and then I get up.

As for the 2004 Central Valley airshow at NAS Lemoore, the Mig 17 was pretty cool and the Blue Angels were obviously amazing. There was a Super Hornet demo that was good, but other than that the show wasn't that great. I mean, a handful of civilian aerobatic airplanes doing torque rolls and hammerheads, how many of those do you really want to see?

What do you guys think?

I saw the Blue Angels a couple of years ago when Keith Hoskins of my hometown of Parkville was flying lead solo. Let me tell you, that was one AWESOME show! I am looking forward to the airshow here in July when the the Thunderbirds are here.

Well, Surf, I think that JD and I would disagree wholeheartedly!

The OK3 team and the YAK show were what made the biggest impression on us. The Blue Angels were AMAZING as always, but the torque rolls and hammerheads were a lot closer to home.

Methinks Surf had a note of sarcasm in that. If not, I'm gonna have to beat some sense into him this weekend.

The Air Force Thunderbirds are currently flying the F-16C which is the most advanced version of the F-16 in the Air Force's arsenal.

Anyone know if the Blue Angels at some point in the future (whether near or distant) will be flying the Super Hornets?

According to two of my buddies who were on the team in the mid 1990's say the "Blues" fly the oldest FA-18's in the Navy. They say the "Thunderchickens" (my word not theirs) are treated like royalty with a large budget by the Air Force compared to how the Navy treats it's demonstration team.
