Its not like you can go wrong with snap on. I don't own one, but have used some of them.
A service cart may not have enough storage after a few years though. If your wallet isn't thick enough to buy something bigger now, you may want to settle on something less costly to start with.

I don't know if it will be a Snap-On (probably not) but my next box will be long and about waist-high because I like the idea of having my toolbox double as a rolling work table.

My dad has accumulated quite a few Snap-On toolboxes in his maintenance/flying career - they are indeed great. For what we do, though (maintaining the family airplane in the hangar, including major maintenance) separate benches and work tables are best. Both of us are excessively tall, and find the standard working heights to be too low.
Your mileage may vary.

I'm not a A&P/AMT but I've always had an affinity for the Kennedy Boxes. They have a great online catalog on their website www.kennedymfg.com
Their real forte has always been machinists boxes, but I've always found them to be of high quality and very rugged. IMO

All Mechs I work with or going the US General route for boxes, They are built strong as can be and cost less than Snap On, If you are starting out then maybe you should just go with Craftsman, they have a alright line of 13-14 drawer boxes for 500 bones. I still have mine from them and still going strong after 9 years of hanger work. I currently am working on RESETS on UH-60 Blackhawks. The chest type box works great for me. We don't have much space to work on tables in the hanger with 7 birds in there plus all the back shops.

The ball bearing drawer boxes by craftsman are pretty good. I think I'd buy a new car for that money before I bought a Snap On box. Although, my friend has gotten a couple of killer deals on Ebay and Craigslist for Snap On boxes so if you're patient you might find something good.

I am doing ok with my Craftsman tool chest. It's a basic one but it gets the job done. I just needed something to store tools in. I've seen others use US general and they like it too.

Snap On boxes are great but for me I just don't get it. I know they are quality tools/boxes but for me the price doesn't justify. I mean 17 smackers for a bit adapter? Come on! From what I've gathered at work, their boxes start at like 12 or 1400 for a medium size 6 drawer with a flip top. I guess if 60% off I would consider it more but I spent 350 on my Craftsman 14 drawer and like the lay out better. I like having more drawers that allow me to compartmentalize more than a 6 drawer would. I've got a pretty fair amount of tools and still have two of the longer drawers empty and the deep one empty on the bottom right, though I do use that one for my noggin protector.
If I wsa going to spend around a grand I would probably look at Kobalt and get the one with the speakers built in with cd player/ipod adapter and a fridge.
I think really the best would be subjective to each person and the style of box/what they are looking for would be biggest factor. If looking at most bang/storage for the buck definitely don't go snap on. For the same price as that snap on box, retail price, one could buy more storage than they would know what to do with by going craftsman
