Beechcraft Baron

Yeah not cheap.

Mooney has a example of cost per hour for all of their planes on their website and they are all in the mid 100 dollar range. Now think about adding another engine and the fact that its a BEECH!

Does anyone know the operating cost per hour on the 58 models?

THANKS!

According to Planequest.com A beach baron cost more than twice as much in fixed and variable costs per year/hour than a Mooney ovation.
The question here is if its worth paying the extra $$ for it..

Fuel burn cost x 3

15 gph x 2 = 30 gph

30 gph x $4/gal = $120/hour airplane only (direct costs)

Indirect costs would be a factor of how many hours the airplane flew. Loan, hanger costs/tiedown, insurance, etc.

I would think a Baron would actually cost about $3-400 to "operate" (considering annuals, fuel, misc maint.).

I have almost 800 hours in a Baron and NEVER averaged 28 gph, more like 32-36 (depending on length of flight, first hour always burns more for takeoff and climb).
