Be1900 beeping?

I heard this from a friend that recently flew a Mesa 1900 from DEN to ABQ. I understand that non-pilot pax can come up with some interesting stories, but I thought I would run it by someone who knows the 1900

He reported hearing a loud, regular beeping from the PA. He siad that it was loud and all the pax heard it to. It was not a seatbelt chime. he also heard it on the return flight.

The only thing i could come up with was an extremely loud middle marker, but I know that is quite a stretch.

In the "mini-1900's" (King Airs) I've flown, the altitude alerter is a somewhat loud, repetitive beep. Not through the PA of course, but it can be heard in the cabin in the King Airs. I've never been on a 1900, so I don't know about that...just throwing out a possibility.

Some of the 1900 guys (or former ones) can probably "chime" in on this

but if I recall the 1900 has some sort of interference problem when the props first start spinning. It leads to a very loud beeping sound that get faster until it eventually stops. Some times they would pull a circuit breaker that seemed to fix the problem. I don't know which one it was. But this all occurs on start up. So if this sound was in flight, ignore everything I just said.

I know this sound very well...I flew 1900s for several years. This is interference from the engine igniters during the start sequence that manifests itself through the aircraft speakers. It sounds more like a siren than a beeping noise...but is unmistakable.

Some pilots would pull the speaker circuit breakers to prevent the noise from permeating into the cabin although this was an unapproved procedure.

Seems like I remember some sounds like that in the Kingair. I remember at close to idle power the ignitors came on or something liek that, so At short final you would hear the interference sound coming through.

Same thing on the 1900. Apparently I hear there's a fix for that.
