BCT Cessna 310 Crash

I wonder if control could be maintained in a rudder hard-over situation using aileron, differential thrust, and carefully controlling airspeed. Might take literally one engine at max power and the other one windmilling, and at or near MCA, since that's what the rudder was certified to do.

Landed short and it took the mains off

Someone on Reddit mentioned there are some bolts/screws on the top of the tail that if they back out can jam the rudder and is a known issue with that plane. No idea if that’s what happened or not but given video of it flying overhead I’d say the rudder lock was not in place.

Differential power has entered the chat...

I can see how that could be used to overcome the situation in some airplanes.

However, this was the owner. An owner that has owned the plane for a while, and also an experienced airman. Without derailing the conversation and going non-stop to Speculationville, I’d like to think they’d recognize such a condition and discontinue taxi or take off.
