Hello everyone,
Well I just got back from my PACE interview. I think it went well, but heck what do I know. Should find out in the next few days if I got in or not. I tried to remember as much as I could so I could give everyone some good gouge. Here it is:
8:00AM Interview session starts with a psych test. Consists of 187 questions and they are all wierd. They are looking for conisistancy as some of the questions repeated themselves. Next came a 30 question instrument test, no figures, straight out of the GLEIM. Make sure you know weather, ie. how long is an airmet good for, and what does frost do to a wing. Nothing major.
10:00AM was an intro session with the director of the program and other students. Very nice people and they try to put you at ease. They were saying how Mesa is currently hiring alot of people because of new routes and aircraft deliveries.
My interview was in the afternoon and it was HR. Really great time and they were really nice. Lots of questions on what would you do if you saw the captain do...... (drink, wear a dress...) Be yourself...also know why you are here and what you can give to the program.
Later was my sim check, that was pretty fun actually. It was a FRASCA 242 made to be a Baron. Pretty easy stuff, they give you a pattern C to fly and an ILS to fly. They also give you power settings. The numbers seem out of wack but do what they say as that will keep you right on the glideslope. Don't reinvent the wheel I guess. You get a score after the flight and you want that number to be as LOW as possible.
After all that back to the hotel, change and debrief with everyone at the bar. PM me if you want more info. All in all it was an awesome experience and seems like a great opportunity. I hope I get in. Take care everyone.
