I noticed they have a new version of the aviation instructors handbook out. They have added a few more things to Maslows pyramid. I look at the PTS and the FOI seems to still be the same and has no changes. Has anybody recently taken the Oral potion of the FOI and should I read the old book or get the new book?

Where do you see a new version? The latest version on the FAA website is 2008.
 
I have an old version from 2005 because i started my CFI back then and then decided to go for my multi and i got a job flying Navajos...I am comparing the 1999 version to the 2008 version a lot has changed...so they added cognitive to it?
 
The FOI written got overhauled. The handbook it seems has been reorganized and some language has been swapped.
