Aviation high school in Seattle

Looks pretty kewl. I just volunteered to be a mentor. They are starting out with only 9th graders and 100 students. Hope they get the support to make this work. In four years their goal is to have 400 students.

Very cool, but not knowing WA politics/funding, seems ambitious. I went to a 2-yr residential math/science high school in Louisiana (yes, laugh away...)

Why isn't the school open to the rest of the state?

Public schools are usually only open to local students, due to their funding.

I would love to go back to school - my concern with this school would be much like ERAU there would not be many girls. It would be tough on the guys that go there and then to riddle, then becoming CFIs - they would never get ......

Yeah, I didn't think about that. I kind of didn't think about anything else once aviation got in the story.

It's possible...I went to a "special" high school and the social life was great!!!

I dunno, I think the idea is excellent. Wish there was something like that in NZ. Sure would miss the ladies though.

As much as I love aviation, I don't think I would attend a school like that..like someone said:

the social life.
