Any of you involved? What do you think of it?

I'm going to be the advisor for a new post forming in Spokane.

I've been trying to track some folks down around here about it, but nobody seems to know what I'm talking about.

So, I'm limiting to helping scout tropps get aerospace badges... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I am sure if it was run right, it would be an excellent experience. I have nothing but good memories from boy scouts, although I somehow managed not to get Aviation merit badge but got Eagle in the end anyway.

I remember my first summer at Treasure Island-I ended up only getting the rifle merit badge....spent the entire week shooting .22's at a target. I remember my parents were not too happy with that.
Did get the aviation badge and Eagle...so it worked out.

Yeap - it was a combination between that and the EAA take kids flying gig, that I got into aviation. I was in 8th or 9th grade, and it got me down the airports, and known at the flight schools.

I am currently in the program here at Syracuse. It's part of the 174th ANG. We do monthly activites all related to aviation/military flight. Our last outing was a ride in a C-130 around Upstate NY..That was awsome!

Treasure Island...the one on the Delaware River?

Yup, thats the one. TI and Marshall Island. There was a cool bridge to cross to get from one to the other. Every so many years they changed islands to let the other "grow back."

I remember the water level marking in the chow hall...killing the moo (although i think we were the only ones who did that)...The OA, but i never had a chance to join-some kinda scheduling thing. Some really good times.

Edited for Nostalgia
