Anyone ever come across any Aussies working on US airlines? Weather Flight crew, cabin crew or even ground crew...?

Also, does anyone know weather Yanks Employ from foriegn countries, or do you need a green card?

Cheers Aussie

Really? Kool, thanks for that mate.

Do you have anymore info on how he got there, why hes there and not in OZ?

Is he wanting to fly US airlines one day?

Thanks in advance

Aussie!

I'm not exactly sure, but i'll find out more for you tommorrow and let you know. Basic instinct would tell me that he does want to fly here someday, as he has accumulated about 1200 hrs CFIing here. I'm also quite sure that he may be a U.S citizen now.

Mate after living in AU for 6 months, I have to say that is one awesome place! I would not be too keen to leave, if seems a good life!!!

haha.
Mate i wont lie to ya, fair dinkim, i dont want to disrespect your country, but why would you leave such a beautiful, peaceful, laid back country. The lifestyle is great. Mate, a shrimp on the barbie, grab a beer and she'll be right.
I love it, however i would go elsewhere if it would get a further in my flying career.

Where in Oz did ya go to mate?

The best Scubba i've ever done was in Autrailia, i'll say that. But the USA is also a great place!

Oh Mate, the majority of my stay was in Melbourne (I had an apartment directly opposite the river from the Crown Casino! I was AWESOME!! I spent some time in Sydney, Manly and Bondi was great too - especially the topless women!! I also went up to the Brissie to watch England play Rugby - and then drove down to Melbourne!!

AU is such an easy place to live, make friends, enjoy life. It is worth stealing a loaf of bread from the Bakery in England to get sent there - does that still happen??

crickey!!! youve been all over the east coast!
What about Adelaide?
Thats where im from originally, moved to Syd 2yrs ago.
Melb was rated the most livable city in the world with Vancouver. I dont like Melb cause of its weather! Its too cold!

GOod to hear you enjoyed it! Ye go to england commit a crime and then come to Aust...hehe, dont think so mate, but worth the try!!!

Do Yanks like us Ozzies over there, cause i hear some are a little stuck up?

cheers man

Aussie

As a rule, we Yanks love you Aussies, but we all also think you're all like Paul Hogan or Steve Irwin. And you said "crickey" so you're doomed.

Mate I did not go to Addie - one of my mates went, and participated in a drinking game!! They over did it, and the next morning he was ill 4 times on the way to the airport, and once while standing in line for the check-in - at that point he went to a hotel, and caught the flight the next day!!!

Melbourne was awesome - great night life, yeah the weather sucked, but the upsides were so good, and ofcourse I had to pay my pilgrimage to Ramsey Street.

On a bridge by one of my friends house it says that if you are caught vandolizing the bridge, you will be sent to the penile colony (AU).

Americans love Aussies - but do not be surprised if they start singing Tie My Kangaroo Down Sport!! It is a classic.

I think most of them love us....but they still have alot to learn about us to really know us for them to love us!!

First question I usually get asked is if I am from England. The next is usually to do with us having kangaroos, dingos, koalas, or crocs in our cities, cracks me up everytime!!!

I've even been asked if we all carry knives around like Paul Hogan....lol..

Got to love em'......

And yeah, it's true that not all of them are friendly loving Yanks, but I'd have to say the people on the west and east coast are probably the most friendliest, also the ones that love to interrogate you the most. The "20 questions" are always fun....

That's actually one that I haven't been asked yet!!!

What kind of questions do they interrogate you with, Iain, being from England? I'm interested to know.

Do u get asked if you are from Australia?

They normally ask if we know their family over there), if you have heard of their ancestor, or this tiny village with about less then a 1000 population in the middle of Wales where they know people who live. Or the other things that happens is they tell us about their vacation there that they had 20 years ago, and tell us in great detail!!

Now I have lived in Australia for a while - it is tought to give them a short answer. It all depends on my mood. Interesting fact my immediate family has lived and worked in 5 out of the 6 inhabited continents - no one has lived/worked in South America although my dad visited Brazil for an afternoon.

It seems alot of people come to Australia and forget to visit the best part! Western Australia! Perth... One of the most isolated, yet beautiful cities in the world

Oh, I crack me up!

Not I, mate!! I'm from Sydney, originally, but am living in the U.S.....However, I will be flying back to Sydney for some time later on next month.

Are you an Australian living in Canada, a Canadian living in Australia, or both, or what????
