Attending college while working at an airline

Hey Guys,

I am a long time lurker on this site and this is essentially my first time posting. I currently flight instruct full time and already have a degree in economics. I have recently been thinking about getting a second degree or going back to grad school.

I am curious if anybody on here has, or has known somebody, that worked for an airline or freight company and also attended undergrad or grad school. More specifically, I am not asking about online programs(not that I have anything against them).

I did do a search and found little information on this specific idea. Thanks.

I would say you found little data since not many pilots can actually get away with going to school. As an airline pilot you are on a rotating schedule and can not plan out for longer than month to actually get to class in a brick and mortar building.

With that said, several people on here have finished online degrees while at an airline.

It could be possible with a freight company as some of them have some pretty set schedules.

Agreed... Online is definitely best and pretty much only option. Some freight jobs have set schedules that would allow it, but probably wouldn't last through a semester before changing and screwing up your class schedule. Get your degree done now or online later. My $.02. Good luck.

:welcome2: to JC, enjoy the ride...
